<p>While the restore was started onto a different host system for VMs on vmhost03-zrh, we were able to get vmhost03-zrh back online using an older Kernel version. In order to avoid further impact VMs on vmhost03-zrh will be moved on a later to be announced date to new hardware.

            <summary type="html"><![CDATA[<p>We started offering Services in Switzerland a bit more than one and a half years ago. In this time we broadened our offerings in Switzerland and built out our network presences in the Zurich metro area with ZRH01 and ZRH03.</p>
<p>From the very beginning, all customer services were hosted in ZRH02 (Winterthur), which is a private suite operated by our colocation provider. Due to changes in the Datacenter market, our colocation operator decided to sunset colo offerings in Winterthur.</p>
<p>Therefore we will move all our gear from Winterthur to another Datacenter - we were able to find a well connected DC in Solothurn giving us more flexibility to grow as well as access extensive fibre backbone in Switzerland operated by the DC.
Our new DC location in Solothurn is connected to our Networking POPs in Zurich, ZRH01 and ZRH03. The new DC is only 2ms away from our Core Routers in ZRH01 and ZRH03, making Latency only 1ms more than to Winterthur.</p>

<p>We plan deploy a new core router in ZRH03 and plan to move the current VMHost in ZRH03 to ZRH02. This upgrade will give us more capacity in ZRH02 and better scalability in the Zurich Service region.</p>
<p>We anticipate that the router deployment will take about 1h, while the recovering process on all peerings may take a bit longer.</p>
<p>The VMHost move might take up to 2h, during that timeframe all VMs will be down - should a customer want to be moved ahead of time kindly let us know.
Customers will need to change their IPs after the migration to the ZRH02 IP range. An Email will be sent out to all affected customers.</p>
<p>Maintenance window:
-Router deployment: 07-04-2021 - 9:30 to 11:00

Our Carrier was able to establish a temporary solution by routing the affected services through another link provided to them by another company. The affected services should be back up and running. Please take into account that the performance and latency of the services is still impacted.</p>

Our Carrier was able to resolve this issue after lab testing. It turned out to be an LLDP bug between Intel and Juniper network cards causing the link to be set with wrong values and resulting in degraded network performance.</p>

This build-out allows us to phase out HDD only servers and increase our flexibility and network capacity by adding new links and equipment. Due to this work, we must announce two maintenance windows:</p>
<p>Monday 27.7.2020 13:00 – 14:00: Due to our expansion we will need to move a Core Router to another rack the actual downtime should be less than 15min.</p>
<p>Monday 27.7.2020 13:30 – 14:30: vmhost01-fra will be moved as well, customers will experience a downtime lasting about 15min.</p>

During the move of our three main Transit lines, the Backup line failed to take over, therefore reachability of v4 networks was limited to direct peers of AS34927.</p>
